STATISTICS THAT WE NEED TO FOCUS ON
What are the statistics that we should be looking at to see how we are doing as a country?
The government loves to throw out statistics to show you how they are doing to try to convince you that everything is ok. I think these are not the correct figures that we should be looking at. Below is a list of the statistics that I believe we should be looking at.
1. Number of Americans on Government Assistance.
We need this number to show how many Americans are not able to survive without the government stepping in. Politicians should work to get this number as low as possible with the understanding that it will never get to 0%.
2. Unemployment
This number needs to show how many Americans need a full time job. If someone has given up looking for a job they should not be taken off. If someone has a part time job because that is all they can find then that person should be counted as well. This number needs to accurately reflect the unemployment rate.
3. Federal Government Tax Percentage
After the FairTax is implemented we need to focus on lowering the percentage as soon as possible. Politicians should tell you what they are going to do lower it without trying to raise it somewhere else.
4. Federal Debt
We need to put this number in the forefront of the American people. We need politicians who will focus on not just to eliminate this number but to get us back to having a surplus.
