Education

The first help I will provide for in the education system is to give every teacher back all the tax money that the federal government is taking from them out of their paychecks and give them a prebate check every month to cover the taxes up to the poverty level. The Fair Tax will also boost the economy and provide more tax dollars to the schools. Beyond that my views on education is that the only way schools will become better is to give every parent the power to hold the individual schools accountable to teach up to the level that parents should expect. My view on the best way to accomplish this is with some kind of school voucher program. Give every parent a voucher so they can choose where they will send their children and their money. The good schools will flourish and the bad schools will get better or be shut down. I also do not care where parents want to send their children as long as it will provide an education up to some set of standards. 

As a new father, I also place more responsibility on every parent that is out there. It is our job to be more involved in the education of our children. Parents need to understand that if your child cannot read then place the blame on yourself and the government school they are going to. Parents need to get involved in their child’s education. Every parent needs to volunteer at the school their child attends in some form or another. The Government will not fix this problem with more money. It will get fixed by all parents selecting the best place for their children and their money to go. I also think that there is waste in some spending within the school systems. Competition will get rid of the wasteful and redundant spending of the individual school systems because they will have to compete with the private sector.

If anyone has a better idea then I would like to hear from you. I want to discuss this topic. I do not have all the answers to education but what I have written here is a start. I think that anyone that wants to be a teacher is doing work that is truly for the greater good of this country and should be applauded and revered. Teachers have a very difficult job and it is up to us to start helping these teachers with our kids.
