Great article. There's a lot of good information here, though I did want to let you know something - I am running Redhat with the current beta of Firefox, and the layout of your blog is kind of quirky for me. I can read the articles, but the navigation doesn't function so well.

As for balancing the budget, there hasn't been an administration, to my knowledge for many decades, which cared to cut expenses, but there was always extra billions for the pentagon and corporate welfare. When the military industrial complex decided many billions was insufficient, then magically wars appeared. There should also be a link between balancing the budget and encouraging industry to return here, instead of tax incentives to leave.

Dave,
You do not understand that I was answering a question. Read it again and then look at the Fair Tax information that I put on the website.

the maximum tax rate of 50% you gave for answer is rediculous....you seriously can't expect any supporters with that answer....in light of this year's passage by Florida legislature (during a recession)of FL SB1778 which increased motor vehicle title, registration and license fees over 40% using rationale thats its been over 20 years and its what other states are charging is absurd...that kind of rate jump can never be justified....the Save Our Homes cap of 3% should be the standard with no exceptions. More important, any rate increase at all should be at the approval of the taxpayers requiring a referendum vote. Instead of continually increasing monetary infusions to the State departments'/bureaucracies' relentless buildups at the expense of the taxpayer, they should be be trimmed of all unneccessary waste, learn to do more with less and seek to bring down these costs.
