What, of all issues, could be more important to an elected official, than to use responsibly, the power granted by the people to spend money that doesn’t belong to him or her?

When discussing the structure of federal power, especially where the legislative powers are concerned, it’s important to take into consideration the effects of the Seventeenth Amendment.

A better Social Security If there were such a government service that was good for us, that we would willingly accept, would it need to be forced upon us? Such is the case with Social Security.

The Tenth Amendment Pledge is a Service of the Tenth Amendment Center. As a candidate for public office and potential public office holder, I promise that,

Education, like health, is near the top of the priority list for every family and individual. There is little else more important to parents of a school-aged child. The government has stepped in to try and alleviate the shortcomings in this regard, but their efforts have been scarcely effective.

One of the biggest factors in considering energy policy is consumer demand. To meddle with market signals used by energy producers always has perverse and unintended consequences. Further, a policy of onerous regulations, to the extent that the regulators themselves aren’t familiar with them is never an effective policy.

For far too many years our foreign policy has been to police the world. That needs to come to a swift end.

I know that there are Americans that have fallen on hard times. In this economy, unemployment is up, job opportunities are down, and many are looking for help.

This great country was founded on immigration, and the talent and labor of individuals from other nations. With that in mind, our current immigration situation is plagued with considerably more problems than those dealt with during America’s infancy.
